This subject covers basic concepts applicable to the design of all medical instrumentation systems. First chapter of this course provides basic knowledge of how the signals are obtained from the body and different types of biopotentials. Electrodes pick up the signals from the human body so they constitute building blocks of the most of the medical instruments and are described in second chapter of this course. After picking up the signals of interest from the body they are processed and presented in most convinient form for interpretation so,amplifiers,display and recording systems which facilitates are covered in the subsequent two chapters. Last chapter on electrical safety describes about various situations requiring attention to avoid the occurence of electrical accidents.
